The Van Finally Arrives

It took longer than expected for the arrival of the van (due to unforeseen complications) and Friday September 18th, saw my new ownership of the vehicle. I have to say, this is not the vehicle that I ever planned to own again; a former van of the same company and style (even colour!) was a disaster for me and I vowed that I wouldn't own another of that particular company's vehicles again. Unfortunately, this was what was available and after extensive work on it by the seller's "boys" (a term which the owner of the car restoration and sales, affectionately refers to the mechanics in his autoshop) did a lot of front end work on it; it was complete.

After over a year of no personal vehicle, the idea that I own this one (which happens to be my friend's trade in and the van I have been driving for eight months). I am at least familiar with the van and because it was a trade-in, there was no direct purchase from my friend (which is to prevent any potential of problems if something went sour with the vehicle). The dealership she purchased "my" van from had only recently (last month) collected the final payment on the van; so she traded in (and up to a very nice vehicle which I really liked, but was twice the price and with no trade in (from me to the dealership), I had to take the lesser of the two.

The van comes with (at my option) a warranty, and it seems like a good thing. My dad has yet to see the van, but it's the same one that he saw us driving a few weeks ago and it's the same (two years newer) than my van which bore the same name.

So, that is one step closer to more freedom. I am hoping to get some sort of small loan for the move to get the truck lined up for sooner than the 31st of October; I would rather be in the new place before it's too cold.

Not to mention, we are both very excited about moving!
